Avery is 17 Months Old!!

Greetings to our blog followers! Avery is about 17.5 months old now and I would say is officially acting like a toddler...she's a hot mess!! Avery is talking up a storm, making herself laugh, making us laugh, both terrorizing and loving on Dunkin, and has a happy and fun loving spirit! Avery is very much into singing "Happy Dirfday" still, she is still head over heels for looking at kitties and doggies, and she has become obsessed with trucks, buses, trains, and planes. Whenever she sees a truck she screams "beep, beep", she yells "choo-choo" and "all aboard" at trains, and waves like a madwoman at planes. Over the last month she has become really fascinated by bugs too, especially spiders but then always says "yuckie, yuckie, yuckie" to them. Avery loves stickers and loves to stick them all over her face and she loves to "talk" on phones, she says "hi-low" when she picks it up and then usually pretends to talk to Dada or Aunta. Petunia is also very into her baby dolls and feeding them their bubba and rocking them to sleep. It's funny how little girls are really just programmed to love babies! One of my favorite things that Avery does is give Dunkin a treat...which reminds me that I really need to get some video footage of that because it is a hoot. Miss Avery is becoming very capable of letting us know what she wants (she is always asking for a snack) and what she doesn't want (her diaper changed)! In a nutshell she is just a joy! Above are just some random pictures from the past month or so...enjoy!

Avery is 16 Months Old!

Today Miss Avery turned 16 months old! I bet some of you are wondering what the heck happened to her 14th and 15th month post...well, the answer is that Florida happened!! We were having WAY too much fun to blog. While in Florida we got to do so many great things...we got to stay in a really nice condo in an even nicer condo complex, we got to dig at the beach just about everyday, we went rock-hunting everyday (Avery LOVES rocks) and we got to go swimming a few times although it was a little chilly and windy in FL to do too much swimming. We also got to go to some baseball games, we went to a cool park where we went on a little train ride and then rode a bicycle built for six! We went out to lunch on Sanibel Island and then looked for shells on the beach. We got to go to the circus and we went to a nearby zoo where we also got to ride on a boat. We went to our friend Gabby's 2nd birthday party and learned how to drink out of a straw for the first time (Avery had her first juice box at the party)! We also got to spend time with lots of great visitors (loved our movie nights with Mia and Ella) and we got to make some new and really fun friends (Sean, Abby, Charlie, John, Teddy, Gabby, and Jack)!!! I even had a REALLY fun girls night out on St. Patrick's day! Poor Mike worked his tail off in Florida while Avery and I got to do all the fun stuff...sorry Mike :( When we came home Avery acted like she had never laid eyes on Dunkin (also known as Duckit to Avery) and screamed in excitement "doggie, doggie" when she saw our pooch. Also, when I took Avery into her playroom she exclaimed "WoooooW like she had never seen her playroom before...it was pretty cute. While in Florida, both of Avery's top molars broke through and the bottom ones are now well on their way. Avery has also gone from walking to running, running, running and climbing...gulp! I took Avery to the MD this past monday and she has grown to 29 inches(22nd percentile) and is 18.2 lbs (1st percentile) so needless to say she is still a petite little package but is packing quite a personality in that little body!! According to the Doctor, babies Avery's age typically have a vocabulary of about 10 words but Avery has about 40 words so she is ahead of the curve on that one! She is also starting to string words together like Thank you Mama and Hi Duckit (Dunkin). I know this all sounds a bit braggy but I am using this blog as Avery's baby book and well okay, I am a proud mama too!!! My favorite is that Avery always says Please for things (Peas, Peas..is what it sounds like but it is awfully cute). Just a couple of days ago the dog sneezed and Avery said "Bless you" to the dog and then called me "honey" Also, Avery and I were hanging out (okay if you must know we were in a fitting room at the store and I was dancing like a crazy person to the music) anywho...Avery was laughing at me dancing and then started yelling "nuddles, nuddles"...it took me a second to realize what she was saying but then I saw that she had her fist clenched and reaching out to give me "knuckles"...too funny my 15 month old initiating Knuckles!!! She also does "cheers" with her sippy cup, and now says "hug" and gives me (or the dog) the biggest most scrumptious hugs!!! I could go on and on about all the little funny things she has been doing and saying, this is a REALLY fun age!!!! I have included a few pics from the last couple of months....a highlight reel so to speak so please enjoy!! Smooches to all!! Love, Sandi xo

The Children's Museum with big cousin Matthew

Don't let her fool you...she's trying to bite me, not smooch me!!

Dunkin in the snow...the equivalent to her Heaven on Earth!

Straight out of "A Christmas Story"..."I can't put my arms down!"

The face I got after I told her she couldn't hold my camera...note the Chiclets.

Taking our new wagon for a test drive!

Oh boy...Avery is in a hug Dunkin phase...Dunkin's thrilled.

Above is a picture of Avery trying to use a spoon...I should have taken a picture of the yogurt that was all over Dunkin's head after this meal! More to come in a week or so because Avery is turning 14 months on the 11th so stay tuned! Love, Sandi xoxo

Avery is 13 Months Old!

Miss Avery is 13 Months old! I have been meaning to post some pictures from Avery's 1st birthday party! A big THANK YOU to our friend Robyn for providing the butterfly wings and tutu (which Avery loves to look at in the mirror whenever she is wearing them)! I am proud to say that I channelled my inner Food Network Star for the party and made the Kitty Cake pictured above..which Avery gladly destroyed! I can't find my "after" picture of the poor Kitty cake but it was pretty unrecognizable after she got her little paws on it! We had an official Sing-a-Long with Ed the Music Man (or Mr. Ed as I like to call him) that I think the kiddies really enjoyed! Next year maybe Mike will be even better on the guitar so he can provide the entertainment (provided all the little ones know the words to Pearl Jam songs). Aside from her birthday party, I wanted to let you know that Avery had a great 1st year check up. Avery is 17 lbs and 27 inches long. She is still small on those darn growth charts (2nd percentile in weight, 24th percentile in height, and 50th percentile in head size...although surprisingly doesn't look like a bobble-head doll despite those statistics). Developmentally, she is really becoming great at walking and has really been working on talking. She babbles a ton and is trying to copy alot of words after we say them. Next time you see her, you will have to ask her what a cow says! As usual, thanks for checking in and remember we love to read your comments!!! Love, Sandi x0x0
