Avery is 13 Months Old!

Miss Avery is 13 Months old! I have been meaning to post some pictures from Avery's 1st birthday party! A big THANK YOU to our friend Robyn for providing the butterfly wings and tutu (which Avery loves to look at in the mirror whenever she is wearing them)! I am proud to say that I channelled my inner Food Network Star for the party and made the Kitty Cake pictured above..which Avery gladly destroyed! I can't find my "after" picture of the poor Kitty cake but it was pretty unrecognizable after she got her little paws on it! We had an official Sing-a-Long with Ed the Music Man (or Mr. Ed as I like to call him) that I think the kiddies really enjoyed! Next year maybe Mike will be even better on the guitar so he can provide the entertainment (provided all the little ones know the words to Pearl Jam songs). Aside from her birthday party, I wanted to let you know that Avery had a great 1st year check up. Avery is 17 lbs and 27 inches long. She is still small on those darn growth charts (2nd percentile in weight, 24th percentile in height, and 50th percentile in head size...although surprisingly doesn't look like a bobble-head doll despite those statistics). Developmentally, she is really becoming great at walking and has really been working on talking. She babbles a ton and is trying to copy alot of words after we say them. Avery is 1 Year Old!!!

Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday Dear Avery, Happy Birthday to You!!! What a difference a year makes! We just love this little munchkin and cannot believe it's already been a year since she arrived! Avery is changing everyday, soaking up the world like a sponge, and walking like crazy! I have been meaning to post a video of her walking but it's hard to video her walking and be close enough to guard wipeouts. Avery officially started walking on November 18th just one week after she turned 11 months (this is totally for my records :) She can say Mama (although still prefers Dada), she can say "out" which sounds more like "ow" with a southern drawl, she can say "Papa" but only whispers it for some reason, she can say "Bubba" which I have been hearing 1st thing in the morning through her baby monitor, and she can say a few more one syllable words like "hot, up, hat, and hop." Of course she is still yelling "Hi" at everyone which is still really slowing me down at the grocery store since those old ladies really eat that up!! I do have a few video clips I can put on here but not at this very second as I really have to get out the door to get shopping for her big Sing-a-Long birthday party tomorrow! Avery is 11 Months Old!

Whoa...a post on time!?!? I can hardly believe it myself! Miss Avery is 11 months old today!!! I can hardly believe that one either! Originally, I had planned on posting a little collage of Avery in her halloween costume and a little video of her walking but Avery pulled out a new trick today that is funny stuff! Avery and I had just come home from food shopping (which takes twice as long when you have a baby with you for MANY reasons). Anywho, Avery was in her highchair eating and Mike and I were bustling around the kitchen putting groceries away and getting dinner together. I happened to notice Avery eating her dinner and practicing trying to blink only one eye...which usually ended in squishy face. Mike has never taught her how to wink and neither have I, so the only thing I can come up with is that someone at the grocery store caught her attention with it and she was testing it out. Whatever the case, "the wink" was born and thought you may like a peek! Thanks again for checking in on us! Love, Sandi

Avery is 10 Months Old!

Avery is 10 months old (well actually 6 days away from being 11 months old) and we FINALLY moved into our new house! The move still has us living in a sea of boxes but the good news is I unpacked my camera last night so I can finally post Avery's 10 month update! Avery is adjusting well to her new room...a little shaky the first week but sleeping much better now. Developmentally, she is still saying "hi" all the time and now says "DaDa" which makes Mike happy (and me a little jealous)!! At the start of her 10th month, Avery started to walk along the furniture, then she started walking throughout the room pushing a little baby walker, and in the past few days has become brave enough to take a few steps without holding onto anything! Let the babyproofing begin!! For those of you wondering, we accepted an offer on our townhouse and are supposed to close on it next week so it's nice to not be worrying about that anymore! Now that I have found my camera and we have finally moved, I will do my darndest to actually start posting more. I want to post a picture of Avery in her Halloween costume and also put a video of her walking so stay tuned!!! Love, Sandi

Avery is 9 Months Old!!

I know, I know...I'm super late with this post! Technically, Avery is almost nine and a half months old and she is a HOOT! We had our 9 month check up and Miss Avery weighs in at 15 lbs 13 0z and is 26" long. At the moment, we are on the petite side (3rd percentile for weight and 8th percentile for height) but I am a firm believer in "good things come in small packages." Avery has learned lots of new tricks in the last month. Avery points at everything (literally everything) but the MD said most babies don't start pointing until about 12 months so I let her point all she wants at people! Avery crawls like crazy now from room to room and pulls to stand on anything she can get her hands on...she can even let go and stand pretty well unsupported. I love going to get her from her crib in the morning to find her standing in there and all you can see are her 2 little eyes peeking over the rail. So cute. Avery also plays Peek-a-Boo but she covers her ears instead of her eyes most of the time. She also can play pat-a-cake as of today! In fact, she really has been trying to copy noises and facial expressions and really interact with people this last month. I would also say that Avery's first offical word is "Hi" complete with a hand wave...she says it all the time (and in the right context), she even says it to Dunkin in the morning. We do need to work on "Bye-Bye" though since she waves and says "hi" when people say goodbye to her as well! We all have been keeping busy...baseball is winding down (lets hope for play-offs), we are STILL trying to sell our townhouse, and we have been working hard to get our new house ready for move-in (which is why this post is so late)! Incidentally, Avery seems to have a new nickname. Can you guess why I call her "Chicklets"? Her front teeth are the only thing not so petite about her! See if you can check out those chicklets in the above pictures(which by the way is Avery's first official red wagon ride with her Papa and she loved it)! Dance Party!

Today Avery and I went to visit Grandma and Grandpa and our visit turned into a Dance Party!! It turns out Avery is a big fan of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons...she listened intently for about 4 or 5 entire songs and was waving her little arms like crazy as her Grandpa danced around. I wish I had grabbed my little video camera sooner because by the time I started recording Avery was getting tired ( I think Grandpa was too)! We had a fun day! On another note, Avery now has 6 teeth! Monday night was a rough night for us but this morning she had 2 more teeth so I guess that explains that! Hope everyone is doing well and hope you enjoy our little snip-it of our Dance Party!!

Do I have anything on my Face?

Gotta love green beans and squishy face...makes for a good Kodak moment! I love this picture and just wanted to share! Soon you will be able to see 4 teeth in Avery's pictures! On Sunday her top right tooth popped out and the very next morning the top left had popped out! Hope you all are doing well and staying cool in this HOT weather!!
